In 1957, Mo Asch, the founder of Folkways Records, asked Pete to embark on an amazing recording project. These beautiful recordings are starkly simple: just Pete singing alone with guitar or banjo in front of a microphone - singing 140 traditional songs.
The result is one of the most important set of records ever made. You may well have sung these songs as a child around the campfire or piano. Many of the traditional songs and ballads in Rise Up Singing are on these CD's are in Rise Up Singing or Rise Again.
