Paul Winter Consort joined by the Russian traditional choir Dimitri Pokrovsky Singers - in this a glorious CD that will fill your home with exuberant sound!
This milestone collaboration, recorded in Moscow and New York in 1987, was the first album of original music created by Americans & Russians together. The Consort's western harmonies and Afro-Brazilian rhythms floating over the ancient circle songs and village chants revitalized by the dynamic Russian singers make this into an energetic, reverberating layering of sound.
Planet Swing is a collection of jump jivin’ tunes from the swing era. With extraordinary 3 part harmonies from vocalists Annie Patterson, Wendi Bourne & Lauren Jansen. Coupled with hot rhythms, Girls from Mars knows how to swing!

The college radio station at Bowdoin College made an exceptionally fine audio recording of this nearly 2 hour concert in 1960, when Pete's voice was at its very best. Blacklisted for refusing to testify at the House Unamerian Activies Committee (HUAC) during the 1950's, college campuses provided one of the few venues where Pete could perform for many years.
Lively song collection produced by Annie Patterson, recorded by Jim Henry. This 30-track CD includes a wide variety of simple but moving songs with themes of peace, multicultural diversity, faith, joy, and gratitude. Annie sings on all but 2 of the songs. Songs include a variety of voices and instrumental accompaniment including banjo, guitar, mandolin, doumbek, cajon, cello, and fiddle.

This album is Pete's premier eco-recording. It includes 5 songs about environmental issues by Malvina Reynolds, along with Pete's classics "People Are Scratching" and "My Dirty Stream". The other songs celebrate the precious gifts of nature, love, and old traditional songs.
Smithsonian Folkways will create special order CDs of any LP in their collection. We have ordered a bunch of copies of this wonderful 1966 album (as we did with his "Talking Union" LP earlier). The CD includes the original album insert.
