The Clancy Brothers were an Irish traditional folk band active from 1956 to 1998. They are largely credited with spurring great interest in Irish traditional folk music in the US and also played a major role in spurring a great revival of interest in traditional folk music in Ireland.

They recorded two dozen albums as The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem before Makem's departure to pursue a solo career in 1969. The group disbanded in 1998 after Paddy Clancy's death.
