About the Song
Sally Rogers was the first to record this song on her 1982. Franke first recorded it on his 1983 One Night in Chicago album.
Franke added the third verse to this song as a message of hope in the depths of the AIDS epidemic. Especially in the early days of the epidemic gay men were vilified and ostracized who had AIDS. Many suggested that AIDS was God's punishment for their sinful behavior.
The first video was recorded by Bob in 2018. It was part of a longer interview with Bob by Mark Steele that can be watched at: https://vimeo.com/304464844.
The 2nd video below was recorded during a rehearsal with the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin in an old bomb shelter bunker in Moscow.
