About the Song

Malvina Reynolds 1st recorded this song in January 1966. It was included on her 1967 "Malvina Reynolds Sings the Truth" LP - her only album released by Columbia Records.

A year earlier Pete Seeger recorded it as the title track of his 1966 LP for Columbia. (Wikipedia says this is his sixth studio album. Perhaps they mean his sixth album for Columbia?)  The songs advocate awareness of the environment and appreciation for the splendor of nature. We sell the "God Bless the Grass" CD in our online store.
