Fairport Convention is an English folk rock band formed in 1967. Its two most influential albums were Unhalfbricking and Liege & Lief both released in 1969 and featuring Sandy Denny as lead vocalist. The band has continued with many lineup changes until 1979 and reborn in 1985 to present.
It has had a great influence on British folk music and spawned a number of other bands including The Albion Band, Steeleye Span, Fotheringay, and Southern Comfort.
