Root of the Root

With gratitude to poet, author, Catholic Sister and dear friend Joyce Rupp. Joyce planted the seed for the writing of this song. Inspired by a line from the 5th Century Muslim poet, Rumi—“Come, return to the root of the root of your Self”—and also the story of “The Golden Buddha” as told by Buddhist author Jack Kornfield (in his book The Wise Heart).
