Chariots

Kirkpatrick was commissioned to compose a couple of "new carols" for a Wassail tour organized by Folkworks in the north of England in 1995. The second recording above is the original 1995 home tape recording made by Kirkpatrick so a different local choir could learn & sing it on each stop of that tour.

This carol became a centerpiece of each of Nowell Sing We Clear's concerts. The 4th recording was made in the Latchkiss Theatre in Brattleboro, Vermont at their 2017 concert. SE Vermont audiences grew to learn the chorus of "Chariots" & sing along passionately at each annual Christmas concert.
