Literal translation:
With great love you have loved us, O Lord our God, 
With great compassion & abundant mercy you have shown us.

Commentary by the author:
Let us receive all the love that is here for us. Let us share all the love we can give. Let us soften, not harden. Let us expand, not contract. Let us remember that the breath sustaining us is love. Let us remember to breathe as deeply as we can. Let us allow loving breath to slow us down, heal us, and animate our action. Let us be more compassionate, more patient, more trusting, more courageous, more committed to our purpose, more joyful, more alive, more ourselves—for we are love. Let us be fully the love that we are. Love prevails.
