Tom Lehrer (1928-2025) was an American singer songwriter, satirist, and mathematician. He taught university math for many years at MIT, Harvard, and Univeristy of Caifornia Santa Cruz.

He is best known for his satirical comedy albums from the 1950's and 1960's (accompanying himself on the piano) and frequent appearances on the NBC TV Show "That Was the Week That Was" that aired 1963-65.

Lehrer generously abandoned the copyright on all of his songs to make them more freely available to others to use. You can find downloads of all his recordings, lyrics, and lead sheets available on his website. Apparently this website will be shut down in the not too distant future. You can find several of his songs (listed below) in our songbooks.
