The Chambers Brothers are an African American soul and folk ensemble. They began to hone their singing skills in the choir of a Baptist church in Carthage, Mississippi. They formed their band in 1954 in Los Angeles.

They began to gain acceptance in the folk circuit after moving to New York City in 1965. They began using electrification around the same time as Bob Dylan at the Newport Folk Festival in 

They appear in Questlove's "Summer of Soul" documentary film, which was filmed at the Harlem Cultural Festival in 1969.
